Gina has been in the veterinary field since 1989. She is a Certified Veterinary Technician and has been the Head Technician at Encanto Pet Clinic since July of 2001. She supervises and instructs our other technicians and assistants, maintains all our equipment and inventory, as well as performs technician duties. She has always had cats and dogs in her life. She has trained and shown dogs since she was a child as well as raised 2 yellow Labrador puppies for Guide Dogs for the Blind. She pursued her interest with animals at Pima Medical Institute and became a veterinary assistant. She studied hard and took the State and National exams to become a Certified Technician in 1993. She has worked in the veterinary field as an assistant, technician, receptionist, and a practice manager. She also volunteered at the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum as a keeper for several years and now volunteers at the Reid Park Zoo.
Gina was born in Southern California and moved to Tucson when she was young. She has been married since 1991 and has 2 children, a daughter and a son. She has 2 furry children as well. A gorgeous domestic longhair cat named Forrest and a very outgoing little pug named Squishy. Gina and Squishy are a pet therapy team and work with Gabriel’s Angels to help children at risk. She spends her free time supporting her son in school, Cub Scouts and soccer, loves to read, hike, and camp.
